Tractor Trailer Driver Killed in Accident
January 17, 2012 - Mifflin Township, Ohio - A 63-year old man was killed when his tractor trailer truck flipped over near the intersection of Interstate 71 and US 30. The Ohio State Highway Patrol said 63-year-old man was driving south on I-71 and tried to get on US 30 west, but his truck went off the left side of the road and overturned. The truck landed upside down in water. The severity of the crash caused the driver's death. There were no reports of any other injuries.
This accident is a reminder of the dangerous aspects of driving on the roads with trucks. Trucks lose control very quickly and can cause car accidents with other vehicles. These accidents are usually severe due to the weight differences between the truck and the car. Automobiles cannot withstand the impact with a truck. The amount of force associated with a car-truck collision greatly increases the severity of injuries. In this case, this accident caused the death of the at-fault driver.
